What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's that time again! I'm loving that we're halfway through another week so in honor of this fact, I'm once again linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday . . .

Here's what I'm loving this week . . .

1. International Delight Iced Coffee Mocha flavor- I'm especially loving it now that it comes in individual sized bottles. It helps get my morning off on the right foot!

2. Thanks to Amanda I'm loving these new wax melts from Febreeze. White Peach is the only scent I've tried so far but will definitely be trying more soon. The fragrance is not too overwhelming which makes it perfect since I'm an allergy sufferer.

3. Kiss Press-On Nails - now ultimately I would love to be able to get regular manicures but since that's not an option these are a great alternative. They are easy to apply and typically last me anywhere from 5-7 days before they start to pop off.

4. Iron Man 3 - ok, confession time - maybe it's actually because of Robert Downey, Jr. himself but Iron Man is my favorite super hero. Before I got married I never really got into the super hero movies, but now that hubby has introduced me to the Avengers I'm absolutely loving Iron Man and am super stoked for the new movie coming out May 3!!

5. Bobby Flay's new cookbook Barbecue Addiction came out yesterday. I'm super excited because hubby and I will be going this Sunday to meet him get an autographed copy!!

6. Bluebonnets - being a native Texan I absolutely LOVE this time of year when the flowers start blooming everywhere - especially the bluebonnets! This year hubby and I made a little road trip to Ennis for the Bluebonnet Festival and it was well worth it. I have always wanted to go somewhere to see just field after field of bluebonnets since we only get a little smattering of patches here and there. This is just a sampling of many beautiful pictures we took.
(do me a favor and ignore my hair - it was CRAZY windy)

7. As always I'm loving another God-given day to enjoy this life with my husband!!

If you haven't done so you should head on over and see what everyone else is loving on this Wonderful Wednesday and join in the fun.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Well, I have given blogging a try in the past and as you can see it hasn't gone very well. I decided I was ready to give it another go and figured it would be best to start out trying to link up with What I'm Loving Wednesdays each week and see how it goes from there. If you haven't checked out this weekly link-up; you should!

So without further ado, here's what I'm loving on this wonderful Wednesday . . .

1. My dinner Monday night - Daily's frozen margarita and homemade taco/lime chicken tacos. This was the perfect combo!

(recipe found here)

2. I signed up for Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag and my first one should be arriving soon! I'm super excited because I love trying out new products and what better way to do that than by breaking the bank on full size items I may or may not like. I only pay $10 a month and receive samples of items to try.

3. Drew Barrymore's new line of makeup. This is the only item I've tried so far, but I'm loving it and can't wait to try some of her makeup. Very affordable for those on a budget, like myself! Isn't this the perfect color to kick off spring!

(this is called Eye of the Tiger Lily)

 4. Continuing on in the makeup department I'm loving E.L.F.'s new matte lipstick pencil in Rich Red. I'm usually not a red lipstick kind of girl, but this is actually perfect. It gives just enough color without being too bright.

5. I don't normally watch Dr. Oz, just because I'm not home when it's on, but I came across this regimen he recommends and have implemented it into my skincare routine over the last couple weeks. Witch hazel and St. Ives collagen/elastin moisturizer. I've always had pretty good skin but have noticed lately it hasn't been looking it's best. Ever since I started using this system I've noticed a difference - my skin is looking brighter and healthier again.

6. Call me a nerd/geek but I love researching the best products on the market. I just signed up for a subscription to Consumer Reports and am beside myself waiting for my first issue. My dad had a subscription years ago and we would "fight" over who got to look at it first.

7. Sharpie's 80's Glam fine point pens! Just got these for work and am loving all the fun colors. Helps me keep things organized!

8. Last, but certainly not least I'm loving that God has given me another day to enjoy my life with my wonderful husband!!

Fall Flair

Fall is my FAVORITE time of year!! I love the cooler weather where it's perfect outside - not too hot; not too cold! I absolutely LOVE the colors of the leaves turning to yellow, orange and red!!! I love snuggling up under a warm blanket with a good book and warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate. And I love how it means the holidays are right around the corner which means time to decorate, bake and spend more time with family and friends. Everyone just seems to be happier and more cheerful and friendly this time of year. It's definitely my favorite season!!

This year I'm especially excited because I found the CUTEST idea to add a little more of a fall touch to our home. It's super easy to make so I just had to give it a try!!! And not only did I make one; I made 3 so that I could give one to my mom and sister!!!

Aren't they adorable!!! I also LOVE pumpkins so as soon as I saw these I knew I had to have one!!! I can't take credit for them though. I found them over at House of Hepworths blog. Check it out here with a full tutorial of how you can make your own!! Isn't she brilliant!! It's one of those crafts that makes you say, "well, now why didn't I think of that??!!" Thank you Allison for giving me such a cute decoration to add to my collection!!

Here's a couple pictures of how I decorated a shelf that's hanging above our closet in our bedroom. I try to decorate this shelf for every holiday, so stay tuned for how it transforms for Christmas! (and yes, the date on the pictures is from last year but it looks exactly the same this year) ;-)

This isn't everything I have out for fall, but it will have to do as I don't have pictures of everything else and am too lazy to get up and take any right now.

I hope you are all enjoying the cooler weather and all the festivities that come with the season!!!

The Painted Apartment

There have been many changes in the Fisher house lately. Since we live in an apartment we are blessed with the lovely hospital white walls with no character! SO, we decided we were going to change that. (the complex let us have one accent wall, but we wanted 2, so we painted the 2nd one ourselves!!)

Whatcha think???

This is the wall the complex painted for us. Sorry, I don't know the name of the color.

This is the wall we painted ourselves!! The color is Mocha Madness.

It makes our place feel so much more like a home now! Since the above picture was taken I have added a nice little ivy to the top of the bookshelf that really competes it! We still have another year before we our lease is up so we're trying to make the best of what we have. We're hoping that we will be able to find a nice little rental home when it's time for us to move. That would be IDEAL!!!

Remember a few posts back when I mentioned how my m-i-l had given us an adorable little wooden rocker! I promised pictures, so here you go!!

(she gave us the candlesticks too but they're in storage for now along with the rocker until we get a bigger place. I'm also thinking I want to spray paint them a different color - any suggestions?)

here's a side view - I just can't wait to have a little one so they can sit in it - ADORABLE!!!!
Ok, so I know I haven't posted in a while, but with football season starting maybe that will change. My husband is a HUGE football fan and I do not share in that passion with him!! So I see myself having a lot of ME time in the near future!!

I'm still here

Ok, so this blog isn't going much better than the first one! I really thought I would be able to post more but just hasn't happened. Life has been getting in the way!

We did get a 2nd computer finally! so now I really have no excuse for not blogging more It's nice, but it's a netbook so it's somewhat slower than the laptop we have. I haven't tried blogging on it yet so I'm not sure how that will go. All I know is it's about all I can do to get on Facebook and play all the fun little games I have going on there catch up with all my friends and family! I am thankful we have it so that I can get on whenever I want and don't have to wait for my husband to finish with the laptop.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversay May 22. It was a fun day of running errands and we had a nice dinner at La Hacienda Ranch where we had our rehearsal dinner. They have such good Mexican food! We even splurged and ordered an appetizer, which is something we don't normally do! No desert though - we went home and ate our leftover wedding cake that my m-i-l and s-i-l so graciously took care of for us this last year. Everyone was worried that the cake wouldn't be good and would taste like cardboard, but that was NOT the case! It was delicious. It tasted as if we just went and picked it up from the bakery ourselves! I could not have been more happy with the way it turned out! Sadly we ended up tossing a little more than half of it because we just couldn't manage to eat it all.

We went down to visit my family Memorial Day weekend and had a really nice time! My sister is expecting her 2nd child (another girl) and we had a shower for her that Saturday. It was really nice seeing friends and family I haven't seen in a while and my sister got a lot of nice things! She is all set and ready for the baby to come which could happen any day now! I'm so excited to meet my new little niece, Sadie! On that Sunday we had a BBQ at my parent's house and my grandparents and aunt and uncle came over. Dad did an awesome job smoking a brisket on the grill as well as some grilled chicken breasts and hot dogs! Of course mom made delicious sides to go with it all - potato salad, baked beans, veggies and dips and some ciabatta bread pizza appetizers that got a little well done but still tasted great! Mom gave us a little scare by passing out after not taking her blood pressure medicine. My sister called the paramedics to come out just to be sure she was ok and after taking her medicine and resting a bit she was feeling fine! Trust me, I've since been on her about taking those meds!! We were able to hit up a local farmer's market that I grew up on before we headed back. We got some yummy brocolli, cauliflower, corn on the cob, tomatoes, cucumbers, blackberries and green onions to enjoy! I love that place and am on the hunt for a farmer's market near us! Monday morning we headed back home to get ready to get back to work!

About a week before we headed down to see my family I was in a minor fender-bender. A lady changed lanes into me. Thankfully we weren't going very fast and we exchanged all information and she even filed a claim with her insurance company right there at the scene. I am now in the process of getting my car repaired and hoping that will be done by this Friday! Her insurance company hasn't been the best to deal with, but I am thankful that the car is being repaired and they are supplying me with a rental in the meantime! (no, I didn't get anything fun like a Dodge Charger we were hoping for - we ended up with a Chevy Impala! It's a nice car, but not too much different from my own. oh well, at least it's transportation)

We are now gearing ourselves up for our vacation! Next Friday we leave bright and early in the morning and will be headed to Florida! We are going to DisneyWorld with hubby's family but he and I are going down a day earlier than everyone else to spend a day touring the Kennedy Space Center. I have never been to Florida so I am super excited!! We will be there a whole week and a day!! Of course we'll be hitting all the major parks at Disney with a few days of rest sprinkled in and even a wonderful couples massage on one of those days!! I'm so looking forward to it! I don't know if I'm more excited to see DisneyWorld or to get the massage!! LOL

I will probably not post anymore until we get back and then I PROMISE I will post pictures!! Thanks for sticking with me! I'll say hi to Mickey for you!!! :-)
