Thankfully it hasn't been 4 years since my last post, but I'm sure it feels like that. Sorry! Again, it all comes down to getting that 2nd computer. Which we are much closer than when I last posted about that situation!
Well, today celebrates the 4 year anniversary of when I met my husband. I am so thankful that God brought us together. My life has been changed for the better! We have had so many wonderful experiences together and I look forward to many more in the future! He is one of the best things that has ever happened to me!!
To give you a little history; we actually connected on http://www.myspace.com/. He sent me a message telling me how he liked my profile and my smile and if it was ok with me; he wanted to get to know me better. (well you can see my reaction) So we began sending messages back and forth through myspace and then started emailing and instant messaging and finally began talking on the phone. I was very careful about the information I revealed at first because these days you just never know who is out there and what their intention is. Needless to say, I had nothing to worry about. So after a few months we decided it was time to meet in person.
He scored Rangers tickets from his brother and the date was on. Now being the cautious person that I am; I asked my cousin and her husband to come along with us just in case! Well, Matthew and I were so anxious to meet each other that we actually decided to meet up earlier than originally planned and then meet up with my cousin and her husband for dinner before the game. Throwing caution to the wind!!! LOL (I did tell my cousin what was going on though just in case anything did happen to me!) So, we met up in the parking lot of a mall near his apartment. He was so sweet - he had a stuffed bunny (since it was close to Easter), a sunflower (my favorite flower) and a CD of some love songs he had made for me waiting in the seat of his car for me. We then took off driving to Arlington and talking and he nerves instantly melted away. We both felt so right about our relationship we knew we had nothing to worry about and just relaxed and enjoyed the evening. We had time to spare before meeting up with my cousin so we went and walked around Barnes and Noble to kill some time. Then we met my cousin and her husband at Chili's and all ate dinner and then headed to the game. It was so cute; at one point he wanted us to be alone so we got up and walked around the stadium and ended up having our picture made to document the special day. The game ended with a fireworks show and then we all parted ways. I don't even remember who won the game that night, but it doesn't really matter. He and I sat out in his car for a while after the game was over and just talked about how much we liked each other and saw a future in store for us. We hated parting ways, but knew that we would be seeing a lot more of each other.
In fact, he called me after I got home that night (actually very early the next morning) to get directions to my church so he could come to church with me the next day! We then ended up hanging out at my cousin's house after church and then going to Toys R Us to shop for a birthday present for his niece. Since then we have been inseparable!!
And exactly 1 month from today we will celebrate our 1 year anniversary of marriage!!
